Anybody Having Problems with pocketing text???

Post by shannon conklin »

Please Help!
No matter what font or cut depth I use the program shows all vector areas selected on my letters but leaves out parts of the letters when I prview toolpaths or do the actual cuuting.
Anybody have this problem and find a solution for it?
Thanks in advance

Hi shannon,

Not sure what you are seeing - can you post a Cut2D file that includes your toolpaths and we'll take a look.

Are you sure the tool is small enough to reach everywhere?

cutting text

Thanks Ger21. I am not really sure how to post the tool paths w/o getting it to the g code/text doc. stage which,I dont think you want. I may have figured out the problem though. If the text is skinnier than the end of the tool ,the program just ignores that part of the letter . I tried it w/ a v cutter and it worked but the only problem was that it equired over 1,300 lines of code for 3 1" letters. I went to the .020 engraver and that seamed to work w/ about 600 lines of code for .75 inch letters. Can you add your own tools to the library or are we limited to what is already in there?
Thanks again
Shannon

Hello Shannon,

You can add tools to the the Tool Library as long as the tool to be added has a category already available in the database. Just use the 'New' button to create the new tool and then apply the changes to save them.
It sounds like Ger21 has helped you figure this out, but if not I posted the accepted file formats and sizes to help you post a file.
Here is a list of the files accepted for posting and the allowed sizes:

Archives -> Maximum Upload Size: 1 MB
crv dxf eps gtar gz pdf tar v3d v3m vtexture zip

Flash Files -> Maximum Upload Size: 1 MB
