Yes indeed!
The instructional presentations, the attendees, the vendors, and the facility itself was "top-of-the-line" all the way! Simply a fantastic event!

Re: Chicago User Group Meeting 2018 Agenda
Thank you to the Vectric staff and the attendees for my first User Group Meeting in my first year of Aspire Ownership. This experience reinforced that I made the correct decision for my CAD/CAM Software. I appreciated the closing comments that Vectric commitment to NOT adopt a subscription model and happy that Vectric represented that they find a Subscription model irritating too.
I did not take photos of the projects, and also other examples of the free projects in person... The Chess set was really fun to see in person; I only hesitate in carving it because I just do not like squid... I need an alternate piece for the squid - perhaps a new post for suggestions...
I have great appreciation for the tutorials, but enjoyed the opportunity to network with other users.
My unasked question after the 4th axis rollout update and geo maps/terrain session... is why haven't we modeled a miniature globe for the 4th axis... that would have married the two topics of release 9.5 eh?
Great meeting and it was nice to put some faces with some user names!

Re: Chicago User Group Meeting 2018 Agenda
Stephanie, fwiw, the $46 self parking rate was not a negotiated parking rate... I attend at least a couple of conventions each year, and our people are able to negotiate parking rates... it is a learning curve when you may be in charge of meeting and negotiating... so just a suggestion when planning future meeting in the US. It was discounted probably from $50 to $46, but this is the hotel guest rate. I paid the same rate .2 miles away at the Marriott self parking for Thursday night, but stayed at the Hilton Embassy on Friday night. I have been attending a convention in Chicago annually for probably 20 years, and they have been able to negotiate parking for us.

And Thank YOU Dale, for the cool laser-cut "goodies" you made and gave away again! You are one awesome (and generous) guy!dhellew2 wrote:

(For those who couldn't attend and might not know, Dale made hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of wooden keepsakes, souvenirs and puzzles for the attendees. No one left empty-handed!)
I better not forget to thank Debbie, too! (Dale’s beautiful wife.) I’m sure she was kept very busy zip-lock bagging tons of items, etc!

Re: Chicago User Group Meeting 2018 Agenda
This was my first Vectric User Group Meeting.
In addition to learning a whole bucketload of information, I enjoyed meeting forum members who have been a huge source of inspiration for me.
And Dale, that squirrel you made is sitting in our dining room window watching the neighbors squirrels. Thank you.
I also had fun collecting signatures for my Diploma!
And, thank you for signing my Beki bowl, Beki.

Re: Chicago User Group Meeting 2018 Agenda
To all the Vectric Staff & Supporters,
What a wonderful UG meeting. This was my first Vectric Conference and certainly will not be my last. One of the best I have attended. This meeting much like the forum and all its members was very informative, inviting and very well executed. It did not matter who I spoke to or chatted with it was as though they were my old friends that I haven't seen in a while.
Excellent food and meet & greets. The vendors were top notch and the user creations were all inspirational and lent themselves to the huge capabilities of this software and community.
I will certainly be back again and look forward to another fun filled weekend of friends and learning.
I think the only thing I would have changed was the Tofu sandwich that I mistook for Turkey club.... Still can't get that taste out of my mouth.......
Thank you all again for the gracious and awe inspiring weekend. See ya next year.
