Cribbage board design
I designed this Cribbage board and have a question.
You will see a runner and a skyline I have cut the skyline before and it takes a .0625 bit do make it look nice. The pocket will run to the oval line.
I would rather not use that bit to do the whole pocket.
Is there some way that another bit say.250 em could be used to do most of it and then switch to the 0625 bit

Sorry My file is bigger that is allowed.
So what I need to know is how can I cut around the skyline some and then finnish the pocket with a larger bit.

If you check the "Show Advanced Toolpath Options" at the top part of the Pocket Toolpath dialog you will then get the option to use a larger tool for the clearance of the pocket and a smaller tool for the rest.

I just watched the pocket toolpath guide.
I have a question about using a larger bit to clear a pocket the use a smaller bit to finish.
My question is does the software create a pocket for the smaller bit bases upon the size of your finish bit you choise to use, to clean up your design.

Yes. The software knows which areas can't be reached by the larger bit, and cuts those out with the smaller bit.
You can see the answers to questions like this by watching the toolpath previews. Also, as you check the box for each toolpath in the toolpath preview, you can see where it goes to cut.

What I would really like to see is. After the larger tool gets done hogging out the design, the smaller tool comes in just to do the tight inside corners and not have to cut the whole perimeter. Think about how much time this would save?
This should be an option on the profile tool pathing as well.
I think they may be woring on this for a future update. Keep your figers crossed.

Rest machining is for 3D toolpaths. Cut2D doesn't have those.
Verucktjim2, If you use a raster pocket toolpath you can skip the profile cut as one of the options.
