Tile help

Post by cromag08 »

I have a nwa shark hd3 extended bed. How can I use the tile feature to cut pieces larger than 24" if I don't need to move the actual material. I've never used timing at all, so any help would be appreciated.

A little more information would be helpful. If you don't need to move the material why do you want to use tiling?

2d desktop makes me. My issue isn't that the bed is too small, it's the limitation in the software. I don't know if the tiling feature would work because I don't need to move my material at all. And the video doesn't show how to actually cut the individual tiles.

If your tiles are 20" high, Carve the first tile, Jog your gantry to Y=20", reset Y to 0, and run the second tile.
Don't forget that for tiles X0, Y0 is at the lower left corner.

I can't believe NWA provided software with your machine that wouldn't use the full Y movement.
Good judgement comes from experience.

Thanks, that makes sense.
