Raised text in pocket
How would I create a raised text, or other pattern in a pocket? V8.0-8.5

Re: Raised text in pocket
Draw a pocket outline around the text Select both the text and outline and apply a VCarve or profile toolpath. You will have a pocket cut leaving raised text.

Re: Raised text in pocket
Further to FixitMike's post. The attached images shows a two-level raised text in pocket.
The material is 3/4" thick. The top of the "T" is at 1/4" depth and the bottom of the pocket (yellowish colour) is at 1/2" depth.
Two toolpaths were created:
1. using only the vector in the "pocket" layer (depth 1/4")
2. using vectors in the "pocket" and "T" layers (depth 1/2")
I did this with VCarve as I don't have Cut2D installed anymore so posting the VCarve file might not be of use if Cut2D can't import it.

Re: Raised text in pocket
Thanks guys, work great with one change. In Cut 2D, after selecting both the box and text, I had to use pocket path, not profile.

Yes, that is the way to do it in VCarve, too. I blame my keyboard dyslexia.Dale Yeager wrote:Thanks guys, work great with one change. In Cut 2D, after selecting both the box and text, I had to use pocket path, not profile.
