HELP!!! for a new user

Post by ColinRuddel »

Hi Folks

I am hoping someone can help me out. I have attached a .crv file that I have been working o. When I generate toolpaths it totally misses some of the internal pockets
I have wasted too many hours trying to figure it out so if someone can enlighten me I will be very grateful
I have uploaded teh file pentacle2.crv

Regards
Colin

Not exactly sure what you what the end result to look like but you need to sort out the crossing vectors in the star if you want that to be solid. You only need the outline not the internal parts if that is the case. Also you should weld the tips to the circle if you want it to be connected. The pocket toolpath really hates overlapping vectors.

Hi Adrian, Thanks for the reply.

What I am looking to achieve is an outer circle with all but the lines between the 2 stars pocketed out inside the circle

Cheers
Colin

Like the attached image? If so you need to do what I suggest in my previous post as that is the result of that.

OK, I should not do stuff on no sleep for 28 hours
I have attached the correct .crv file.
What I am trying to achieve is the circle with the pentacle inside it raised and with all 5 sides of the pentacle complete

Thank you for your assistance

Cheers
Colin

The attached file should do what you want. You needed to use the trim tool (scissors) to modify the star to get rid of the overlapping vectors.
