Hello,
If i draw a circle and cut the outside of the circle, then pocket cut the inside of the inside of the circle, it leaves a thin wall of material between the 2 cuts. say about .040"
cutter diameter is correct in the job setup. other dimensions come out correct.
any ideas?
Material left between cuts?
Re: Material left between cuts?
Do you have a number in the allowance offset? If not, your machine may be out of calibration or has some play in it.

Re: Material left between cuts?
imacav8r,
Are you referring to the preview or the actual cut file?
If I run a test using either a circle or a square I do see a few artifacts in the preview. But if I look at the code generated the toolpath movements are correct. This is one of the few cases where the preview does not exactly math the result, but it is a rather unusual use case. I can't think of a situation where it would make sense to do both a profile outside AND a pocket inside on the same vector
I've attached the example files I created using Vcarve

Ill check that.....garylmast wrote:Do you have a number in the allowance offset? If not, your machine may be out of calibration or has some play in it.
machine is very tight and calibrated. and the material left is very consistent in width.
when i run the preview it does not show material left.

Re: Material left between cuts?
Can you post a photo of the material that you've cut?
Have you taken a micrometer to your bit to ensure that it isn't slightly undersized? That would result in the same behavior.
BTW,
Why are you doing both a pocket and a profile outside on the same vector?
