Am I missing something?
Would like to save tool path file with notes related its specifics (like material size, endmill spec.s, etc.) Not finding a way to do this other than editing the file after saving.
Add notes to tool path file?

Re: Add notes to tool path file?
Add a note using Edit-Notes and it will appear in the toolpath file as a remark.
Edit: This works in VCarve Pro. Can't say if it does for Cut2D.

Re: Add notes to tool path file?
There are multiple levels of notes available in Cut2D 8.
The first one is job level and that is on the Edit Menu under Notes. This will appear at the top of the output file generally.
The second is tool level which is in the Tool Database as field on each individual tool. This will appear in the output file whenever the tool is first used.
The third level is toolpaths themselves which you get to by clicking on the Toolpath Summary (clock) icon in the toolpaths tab. Select the toolpath you want to add notes for and add them in the field at the bottom of the dialog. These notes appear at the start of the toolpath in the file.
Where and if these appear in the output file is controlled by the Post Processor in use. If you don't see them in the output file then the PP you're using may not support them but they can be added. There is a guide to editing Post Processors on the Cut2D help menu.

Re: Add notes to tool path file?
Thanks Adrian
I made a few minor changes to the TinyG/inch post processor.
- writes note fields at head
- removed M30 from footer
- saves as .txt (I use CoolTerm to send Gcode ti TinyG.)
