Can a jpeg be separated into 2 toolpaths
Can a jpeg be separated into 2 toolpaths
I am a 110% newbie to Vcarve and CNC. I am using the trial version of Cut2D Desktop to decide if I want to buy it. I have a jpeg file that I am trying to cut. I have to use a small bit, 1/16", to get the lines so when it gets to large "pocket" areas it takes forever to do. Can I separate this into 2 areas somehow so the CNC will stop and I can change the bit and continue the 2nd toolpath of the large areas? (In the image, I am talking about the "ear" areas as large pockets)

If you check the "Show advanced toolpath options" box at the top of the Pocket Toolpath dialog you'll get access to a section which allows you to specify a larger clearance tool. Once you've set a tool and re-calculated the pocket you will then have two toolpaths. One with the larger tool and one with the smaller tool which will do what you want.
