Dark on dark lithophane

Post by Stickman »

I found out today that there's a local performance this evening by Caminos Flamencos, and I studied guitar briefly from Jason "El Rubio" McGuire, who is one amazing performer (he won Downbeat Magazine's jazz guitar soloist of the year - in high school!) His wife is no slouch either, as an Emmy winning choreographer for their troupe. I pulled a couple of photos off the internet and put together something fairly quickly for a present when I see them. Unfortunately these are from live performance photos, on dark stages wearing dark clothing, and I didn't have a lot of time to fuss around with the image. I also wish I'd cut the lettering deeper. Nevertheless, this came out alright.

4x2.25" carving, .21" max depth using 30°v-bit and settings for .031" ball nose; lettering was with a .5" 90° v-bit. About 2 hours.
