My First Litho

Post by MikeUSNRet »

Found this drawing of a fairy holding a butterfly thought I'd give it a go in PVC using .25" thick Champagne white corian.

I setup the image to be 3" wide x 4" tall. Told PVC that the material thickness was .21"
Setup for a .031 dia ballnose with a 50/20 ipm feed/plunge and actually used a centurian 30 deg .25 dia vbit with max carving depth set to .20" Run time was approx 2hr 40 min.

After the cut was finished, I found a nightlight with a plastic cover on it that my wife really didn't like, so I cut parts of the cover/shade away and then used CA glue to attach the carved corian to it.

Very nice. I sure gives you a great sense of accomplishment
when you do a lithopane.
