calgrdnr - masterpiece
I wanted to post this a while ago but kept forgetting to actually do it. Below is a picture of a fantastic litho Kent (calgrdnr) made for my daughter and her admiring herself/his handywork. Thanks Kent, she really gets a kick out of it and trying to figure out how the picture appears from a texture she can feel.
Cheers,
James

Re: calgrdnr - masterpiece
That's really neat. The frame looks like a hand held mirror frame. That's a nice way to display a litho. You can hold it up to any light source and see it in different ways.

All Kent's doing and idea for the frame, it does work really well though.

Wow Kent, that is cool.
That is a neat idea and you have impressed me again. I need to invest is some wood and play around with some different ideas like that.

Thanks Guys,
Not hard with a great subject, The orignal picture was perfect for the litho.
I suppose Jame's artistic side comes out in his photos also .
Of all the Wows and all the looks on peoples faces when they see these in person,
this is my favorite. Hard to beat the great feeling you get seeing a happy child
(another great photo by the way)
Thanks again

Re: calgrdnr - masterpiece
Liked the picture so much had to make a lithophane of it ... Lithophane within a lithophane
So far so good James ... I think I am still occupying the same space and time
I ended up cutting 2, I did the first with a .0625 tapered BN from beckwith .. I was not happy with the detail...
So recut with V30 bit looks much cleaner to me ... both look great at 3 feet, but my arms are only 2 feet

Re: calgrdnr - masterpiece
Kent, I did think this may cause a rift in space/time but I guess it didn't so they can switch on the Hadron-Collider again - it came out really well, now you need to take picture of yourself looking at it and make a litho of that to make a Lithophane-Cubed.
Cheers,
James

Awe come on Kent, I like Jame's idea!
After all time and space are only allusions in the grand world of lithophanes!
