Excellent work - Would you mind sharing your setup info? cutter choice, line spacing, angle, depth of cut, etc.

Stefan, I am new to CNC and just saw this post. . By any chance can you tell me what your setting were. Add what type of bit/wood etc... This is the one I just did... um it looks nothing like yours : (

That's just what i want too.. I tried several methodes of staining, painting/sanding but never achieved a quality like this.
Can you tell us more about the finishing? (else i have to stay carving lines in wood or do this in inverted in Corian)

Did you carve this pic with Photo V Carve as I do not
see any V grooves.
Can you explain the settings.

I am not Stefan, but I believe he did it this way :)

same as litho but don't invert need to adjust line space to real low ie 15 or lower also will need to use small bit ie 1/16 or smaller depending on size / detail

I think your carving is actually pretty good (better than some of the ones I tried :( ), the main thing you need to change is the wood you used. Try a carving in cherry, or maple, or any other hardwood with less obvious grain. Cherry is the best carving wood that I've found so far.
