On the backlit picture is it only being back lit by the night lit ? The bulb looks to be design to diffuse the light . If only lit by this bulb ,it is doing a great job. No hot spot at all in the picture.

It is Corian, with a night light from the dollar store. I chopped the top 4/5ths off and then sanded the design off of it and glued it on the back. The bulb was an addition (also from the dollar store @ 4 for a dollar) because the one that came with it was not diffused. This doesn't work with all Lithophanes, ones that are darker on the bottom and lighter towards the top work best.
