Very nice. Would like to know all your settings, material type and which tools for which. If you would, please include what you used to finish it. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely a very good start. If I get my first ones to even resemble a photograph, I'll be happy.

WOW.
Very nice work.
Like ezurick, I too would like to know the specifics.
My results aren't even close.

Beautiful piece of work.
I'm surprised that you are able to use MDF.
I tried it and it was complete garbage.
Please expound on your finishing process.
I'm not understanding painting before cutting.
I thought it had to be done after cutting and then sanded to get the desired picture.
It's interesting that you have a contrast setting.
I for some reason don't have that option.

I agree... what do you mean by painting before cutting? Do you mean you paint the wood with Shellac or some type of treatment, but not actual paint? Or do you actually paint the wood with black and then carve? That would be interesting to try. But it would require special paint. I believe a normal paint would only chip away easily. Of course I haven't tried it. But I am basing this theory on projects I have masked, then painted, then continued with more carving.Jan.vanderlinden wrote:Beautiful piece of work.

Sorry,
My comment about the contrast setting was meant for another post.
Getting old sucks.

Re: The start with PhotoVCarve
I've always been a bit mystified by the contrast option - Far as I have been able to tell, you can increase the slider from 0 to 100% and see no change, I usually set it to 20% on the assumption that it is bound to do something. So maybe someone can clear this up - Is this a function that has an actual effect on the model, or just a setting for visual reference during creation ?

Re: The start with PhotoVCarve
Well it seems that I just got an education in photo V carve.
I see (by your attachment) that you have the stand alone version and I have the Desktop V10 version.
Your work in beautiful.
I now would like to hear from other people with the V10 version and see their work.
(there appears to be a definite difference)
