Lithophane I made using photo vcarve. I used a .0625 ball nose bit carving .15 deep.

Nice work. Always loved the lithophanes.
I create them quite frequently on my 3d printer.
Actually the effects are quite similar.

what method do you use to 3d print a Lithophane have not heard of that one ????

Exact same method except my 3d printer is additive in that it builds the lithophane in layers.
While the CNC is subtractive and cuts the material down in layers.
One plus with the 3d printed lithophanes is I have a ton of colors to chose from.

are you using photo vcarve then saving to stl. file???

No I actually use simplify 3d for processing my stl files and a rider program from thingiverse for lithophanes.
I have not tried a lithophane in Vcarve as yet. Been looking at getting photo Vcarve for that reason though..

have a look at Ransen Photo to mesh software on the internet you can 3d print lithos onto cups or vases save as stl file cheap to buy think i will give it a go
stl files imported back into vcarve could do some interesting work in wood me thinks
