RGB litho
Usually use single color white for lithos for obvious reasons, I recently ordered a batch of 15 single color control units and remotes from China - Every one of them is a dud. This one is overdue for a customer so I hooked it up with RGB lights instead. In practice probably will not want to use green/red/blue all that much, but the option is now there for really no extra time or expense.
I do think single color whites are slightly brighter, thats about the only advantage I can see using them instead of RGB.

Xxray,
If you don't mind answering a question, what kind of plug do you use to go from the remote box to the RGB strip. I use single white led's on my litho's but would like to have a neat looking hookup for my led plex sign RGB plug in.
Thanks
Curt

Re: RGB litho
Hard to describe, I'll take some pics of my setup when able, this one is already locked into place.
When using single color strips the controller only has 2 wires, so 2 go to the strip the other end goes to the plug hookup.
For RGB I use the same 4 pin adapters that I always use. These can be used for 2 as well by simply just using 2 wires.

Re: RGB litho
Ok here is a pic of the innards of this one, BTW I found out that these single color controllers need to go a certain way, 1 end must be attached to LED and the other to power, I thought it didn't matter but it does, so now the controllers work.
Anyhow, a pretty simple affair that throws out more than enough light, and the fact that they are remote controlled with flashing/fading options and adjustable brightness is nice.
I use hot glue to tack the strip down in a few places, I don't trust the stick to hold it in place for the long term. Including the 12v plug, this is probably about $7 worth of material for lighting, pretty economical and very functional.
Now all I need to do is screw the back on and its complete, and easy enough to take back off if the need ever arises.

The frame is made out of .5 mdf, the backing .25.
I put the frame together with brad staples, sand the edges smooth then paint.

Nope, chicks name is Taylor Momsen, some might remember her as little Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch movie ... She is grown up and in a rock band called Pretty Reckless.
Made the lightbox for it last night, looks pretty slick, along with the pic it was made from.
