Re: my first photo in wood
That came out real good. What was the line spacing on this and what angle did you use?

It was a 30deg and a 10% step over. Thanks

Re: my first photo in wood
If i were to scale this up from a rough 8x10in. to a 4ft. x 4ft. size job. Hows that gonna effect the depth of cut? I ran a photo though VCarve with the same settings, got descent results. Imported the file into Aspire. Ran the toolpath simulation. Created a componant from the preview. Then scaled up the model. Depth of cut is now almost .25in. I think I went about it right? Might have to use a floor sander. lol

Re: my first photo in wood
These look nice.
I tried one smaller photo carving of a San Francisco poster but I think they really stand out when you blow the image size up and make deeper engravings.
I have to try some more of this type of engraving as I think it has alot of potential to make some really unique wall art.

Unlike Vcarve, I don't see where I can change the stepover in PVC??

Re: my first photo in wood
Look at the line spacing, make your changes there. This is what I change when doing lithophanes.

But I thought stepover was different than spacing?

Re: my first photo in wood
For a step to equal a space it would need to exceed 100% correct?
