Xxray, are you using PVC or Aspire to do this sort of thing?? Might be that in Aspire the toolpathing is different.

Well all I can say it what I observe ,,, If its such a minute amount that it isn't even perceptible, I don't consider that a lift.

Please tell me how you did this. I have an Inventables X-Carve and I have loaded Java and UGS on my computer. When I go to Vcarve photo tutorials and try to carve their sample photo's my machine only skims the wood. I have looked at their video's and have set my machine up just as they say. Also yesterday my machine went from skimming a photo sized area to only carving a 1 inch by 3/8 inch area and it is still doing that today. I have made sure I have inches in vcarve and inches in my UGS check marked. I am at a loss as where to go from here. Can you help?

I could sure use your help. I have the Inventables X-Carve and I am trying to carve photos using the v carve photo software and UGS. Using their (v carve photo) photo I tried to carve the woman photo, my machine carved from the bottom right to the top left at a 33 degree angle (set at .02 inch depth per v carve suggestion) and all I got was angled lines. Nothing resembling a photo at all. No texture, no depth, no anything. If you can give me any guidance here it would be greatly appreciated.

To make the photo appear you will have to add a stain or paint and then lightly sand the surface to show the contrast. Have you done that yet ?

Keralesh, you would be better starting a new thread to ask your questions as the guy that first posted on this thread hasn't been on the forum for years
