Heres 3 of the 6 litho's I'm making for my grandson, who loves trains. I'm not a photographer, but you get the idea.

Did another one today, not enough time in a weekday to do, so make the most of weekends.

Lookin' good. To get a better photo you might try setting them is a bright window. Here is an example taken from about 12" away (yes, I cropped it). Dale

Question, are your photos taken from the cut side or the smooth side? dh

Just asking. There is a long post on the subject and some folks didn't notice or realize the viewing is from the cut side. Just trying to be helpful, no offense intended. dh

Didnt mean to sound offended, just know which way to look at a litho, or take a pic of one. I saw someone posted that glacier white is the worst corian color to use, I dont agree with that. I say to each his own, whatever works. I made a mistake and didnt invert for a litho and got the idea for some cameos, which I posted on here, so even if you make a mistake, it can work out OK. :D Also everyones comments are appreciated and read by me.

Glacier white is my least favorite because it reflects too much light so the lithophanes are not as clear as other colors.

The one I posted on your blog is green. If you saw the one in the Vectric newsletter with the ladder/chair article it was carved in a brown-tone with metal flake. It is the nicest one I have carved so far.

The only other color I don't care for is Ivory, for the same reason as the Glacier White. The ice-colors are more translucent and also work really well. For people carvings my favorites are green, pink, peach, brown, and bisque/campaign. I have a light-blue gray marble and an off-white marble that looks good too.

I cannot tell the difference between brands Corian, LG HiMax, and Avonite in the finished carvings.

I thought you might like to see 3-different colors together.
I try every new color I can get my hands on.

These are back lit by the sun to better compare; Colors are (left to right) Corian Glacier White, Corian Peach, and Ivory brand unknown.

I like the colors very much. I will try alot of different colors myself. I have a friend who almost gives me corian ( very, very cheap), and can get a very large variety of colors. TY for, enlightening me, to the advantages of a more colorful life. :)

I tried several of the stone patterns and the only one that worked was marble.

Have fun, it is a bit addictive though. Family friends and neighbors will probably keep you busy.

We sent about 50 of them last Christmas to family.

The stands are made from scraps of black walnut with a teak/tung oil finish.

Have you ever used Linen from Corian, I have a chance to buy a fair amount at a good price, and was wondering how it would look with a lithophane.

I use photoVCarve from Vectric. Your FLA-100 would do a great job. I have a Probotix Fireball V90 and it does a Great job.
