Concatenating Rough and Final Passes in Gcode?

Post by roy_okc »

As I was doing today's litho, I got to wondering if I can concatenate a few gcode files together and run in EMC2. Part of this would hinge on whether I can set the tough-off point via gcode.

My thought process would be something like this:

rough.tap
lower_touch_off_0.12.tap
final.tap

This would allow me to run the complete job without having to stop and adjust the touch-off height for the second pass.

I know the right answer is to import into VCP, just haven't got that far yet. Maybe that's tomorrow's lesson for me ;^)

There is a final '%' character in my g-code (Mach3) that rewinds the code to the start. You will have to remove this from the first two files before concatenation.
