Nice work, I'm just looking into this myself.
Can you share any information on speeds and feed rates and the type of bits you use?
Thanks, Michael

Sure Michael,

My Spindle speed for lithos is around 12700 RPM

Rough:
Made with 1/8" Ball Nose at 240 IPM with 45% Stepover

Finish:
Made with 1/16" Ball Nose At 180 IPM with 9% Stepover

That is for most of The Lithos Ive Made, but for the really big and really small one, is as follows

BIG ONE:
No rough pass, direct finish with 1/8" Ball Nose Bit, at 300 IPM 10% Stepover

SMALL ONE:
Rough Pass : With 1/8" Ball Nose at 180 IPM, 45% Stepover
Finish Pass: With 1/32" Ball Nose at 120 IPM (i did it slower cause i was afraid that the bit may break) 9% Stepover

Sorry to panic you friend! It's not my wife... just joking.

We should all be cautious about using photos that we haven't taken. Professional photos are copyrighted and are 'owned' by the photographer. Just a thought.

Very nice work!

Just another great example of how willing this group is to share, without asking for anything in return.
Thanks for the information.

your work looks fantastic, but why do a roughing pass and then a finishing pass?
that is just excess work imho and time consuming.
I could understand this if using .50 corian, but if using .25 corian, you can do this with just a single pass.
Here are my typical settings in PVC when I'm cutting them in .25 corian:

Tool: .031 ball nose
Cut depth: .21
Max Cut Depth: .20
Line Spacing: 10%
Cut Angle: 310 Deg
Feed and Plunge are up to you, but I set and run at 50IPM feed and 20IPM plunge

of course, Invert black / whte and calculate

At the machine, I will run a .25 dia 30 deg v-carve bit.

Load up the g-code, set X0Y0 at bottom left and Z0 at top of material then run it.

Do a test run and give these settings a shot and see what you think.
