Secret to my success

Post by mezalick »

Greetings,
I wanted to share with you my experiences of introduction to the world of CNC Carving.
As you may know from reading this forum, I have had a few difficulties getting all the correct components to work together.
Answers from this forum as well as questions from others have been invaluable.
So, here is my short recipe to success.
1. Find a nicely carved item. Mine came from a church that was carved in 1929 in Germany that was made to replicate something from an 18th century English Gothic Church.
2. Find a person to produce a good scan. I was lucky enough to meet Brady Watson, scanner extraordinaire. He produced the most detailed 3d model I could have imagined.
3. I used the Cut 3D program from Vectric and with the help of Tony Mac and Mark I was able to understand what to expect from the program
4. I am using a CNC Shark machine, and again, with the help of Tim Owens of Next Wave Automation, all things are working together.
So, all things considered, this has not been a bad start for me, considering all the help and guidance I received.
I look forward to working in this field for some time.
Thank you all again for the support.
Happy Holidays,
Michael

Well, Michael...
You are, indeed, off to a very fine start!! That is some good work and good advice.

You are right about Brady...best there is.

Regards,

Joe
