You mean the 3D file of the plate I am using? Sure.
Or you could figure out the dimensions you would like and I will make you one and send you the stl file. Check out this thread:
http://vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=22517#22517
Simply select a plate or bowl layout, change the numbers to whatever you would like to see and let me know.

:D

p.s. I like to keep the overall height under 3/4" so I can cut the plate out of 4/4 stock.

Turtle, those are beautiful. Did you remove material from the back to make it like a plate turned on a lathe?

Thank you!

Yes, I used 2 sided machining and the Vcarve inlay process. I will post more detailed images after I spray them.

Here are the finished plates....
The "Kensington" is inlaid with American Walnut and the other two I used Peruvian Walnut for the inlay.

Hi all hope everyone is doing well!!

Great work Turtle!!
This is one area that I have yet to get started on.
Did you design your plate or did you purchase it?
If I get all my Christmas gifts done, I want to try a 2.5D
test on my machine.
Again great work!!

Thanks olf20,

Like the original plate in this thread, I designed it in CAD and cut it using Cut3D. You can find more information on the steps used to make these in the case study posted by Vectric in the September newsletter.
http://www.vectric.com/WebSite/Vectric/vcp/vcp_case_hickory_plate.htm

If you want the files for these plates, they are available through these links:
Original 3D Plate
Flat Top Plate 3D plate

The Original 3D plate zip file contains basic instructions, crv files and Cut3D files so that you can see how it was set up. The Flat top file, simply contains the stl file of the plate.

Be sure to post images if you get to cutting them, I would love to see what you do!

Beautiful work...
When you say you did the inlay with the V Carve inlay process, did you mean it was done with V Carve, or were you able to do it with Cut 3D?

Thanks...

While the plate was cut using Cut3D, the inlay was done using VCarve. You can find info about the VCarve inlay process in this thread:
http://www.vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=564

If you want more info on how I combined the two, check out the Vectric September 2008 Newsletter:

Enjoy!

I am doing well Nick, how about yourself?
I did actually sell these, but to a family member who gave them as gifts. I haven't laid any out to sell beyond that as I am focusing on other things. But it is something I may do in the future.
I haven't tried doing this in Aspire yet, I do have a project coming up that I want to try. When I do that I will know how to lay it out in Aspire.

Be good,
Tim
