Ivo has been busy with the Trial version

Post by Tony Mac »

Ivo Durčák in the Czech Republic is a VCarve Pro customer and has recently been experimenting with the Trial version of Cut3D on his homemade, TurboCNC driven mini cnc mill running a dremel.

He's cut the Free Sample files shown below and produced excellent results. In fact I think this is the first time we have seen the Marlin sample finished and machined 2 sided - I'm sure Dasch will approve!

Thanks Ivo and keep up the great work!

Tony

The marlin is sure nice but until we can get tapered tool in Cut3D, it's a bit of a problem... some areas are very deep cut to reach.

My plan is to cut the marlin from at least 2 inches thick stock. 8)

No real complaining here, it's just that I thought I'd mentioned one of the reason why it haven't been machined much yet.

Wow!
I do approve.
What a fantastic looking carving.

Tony, could you ask Ivo if I could post the image on a couple other forums?
I will give him a credit line if I show it. I know a lot of my 3D modeling colleagues always like to see how the 'real-world' version looks.

Nice work Ivo!

Paco,

How much taper do you need? Have you tried Gary Beckwith's router bits? beckwithdecor.com

Hi Istovall!

I do have such long reach tapered bit but since Cut 3D doesn't handle them I cannot toolpath for such tools.

I'm very confident that sooner than later one of the next Cut 3D release will handle those tools (tapered ball end). My intention aren't to complain in this gallery thread... maybe just push a bit on a feature that I'm waiting for.
