The "PIZCA", is a 3D scanning machine build by Roland. ( see attached picture )
It has a 4"x6" table, and uses a 'probe' to scan the surface.
From the scanning software, you can output an .stl file, that can be input into Cut3D.
Roland no longer makes this model, but you can often find them for sale on eBay.

New Finish Update....
Thought I would post a couple shots of the Rose Plaque with different finishes...
They are both about 14"x20", and were cut in 1" cedar.
One is copper coated, using Sculpt Nouveau, from: http://www.sculptnouveau.com
The other was painted black, with the high light work done using Gilders Paste, from: http://gilderspaste.com

Thanks, Kent....
As I remember, on my 'old' ShopBot PR... It was about 3 hours..... But, I had the stepover set real small, as I didn't want to spend a bunch of time sanding.
Also, because of cutting cedar, and the setpover setting, I did not do a 'roughing' pass..
The metal coat will cover up the small marks, but you can see on the painted one, it was pretty smooth.
