First Project in Cut 3D

Post by sunshinejim »

This is my first attempt at working with Cut 3D. It is cut in a piece of cherry with light cherry stain to highlight the logo and the frame.

Looks GREAT sunshinejim.
How big is the finished plaque?
How about revealing your cutting strategy?

Computers and especially the CNC are something new to me. I have done woodworking all my life but nothing like this. Have to give Vectric and Cut 3D all the credit - all I did was follow the instructions (also something new for me)

The plaque is 8"wide x 9 1/2" high. Did roughing cut with 1/8" flat end mill and finish with 1/8" ball end mill.

I used a Dremel with a ball nose bit to remove any cut marks and to random texture the background.

Finished with 3 coats of spray laquer.

Artwork is from Vector Clip 3D.

Looking forward to lots more - big learning curve for me.
