First 3D cut slice

Post by Lou_CNC »

I absolutely love the Vectric software.

Just recently purchased 3D Cut and had my first go at it.

This is my first cut with 3D cut and slicing. Beside the sample cuts.
It seems they thought of everything for the software. Pretty neat!

One thing I would like to see is to be able to ramp off the top of a slice with adjustable settings instead of it rolling over the top of the slice. It might have it be I didn't see it.
Any info would be appreciated.

Needs finishing of course.

Looks nice, looks like you might benefit from reducing stepover a bit.
Downside is more machining time, upside much cleaner cut and much less sanding.

Do a stepover between 8-10% of the bit and you won't have the marks on them. What bits are you using?

Wish I had seen this about 6 months ago... now I'm off to experiment!

I like it, even though Mickey looks like he needs a haircut. :)
