Sponsoring College student on an ATV competition...

Post by Paco »

I (USINUM) recently sponsor a group of students for an ATV design and capabilities competition. My sponsorship part was to mill the shapes that would serve to mold the various body parts for the vehicle.

I used Triple Squid's some modeling software (beta; I like testing and checking out stuff like that) to slice the models they provide and to nest the slices into full sheet. The nested slices, as models, were then loaded into Cut 3D for toolpathing and within a couple of hours we were milling the slice's parts.

Check out this post on my Blog and on my Google Picasa Web Album.

I didn't make a penny out of this but it was p'etty cool to tackle! 8)

That's pretty good. Well it must feel nice to know you were a part of that. Nice job.
