Fire House Eagle

Postby JamesB » Thu Jul 05, 2012 4:21 pm

Stephen Hoey of KDF Reprographics, Inc. sent us a link to a 5 minute video showing the process of them creating a 12' Eagle for the Norwood, New Jersey, Fire Company #1. They contracted Vector Art 3D to make some adjustments to one of our standard Eagle model to cut it into pieces and provide it as a single wing and separate body model. They then scaled these up and used Cut3D to slice the models and create the toolpaths. The parts were carved out of HDU, assembled and finished with some added embellishment's and what I think is fair to say is an amazing paint-job. Thanks to Steve for sending the images and video link (below).

That is one big, fierce-looking, eagle. Beautiful work.
