heart for someone

Post by tonydude919 »

Here is a heart I did for someone at work. It came from http://www.4m3d.com/free-test-model/
Download the stl model to use in cut3d.
Check out their website.

Enjoy,
Tony

Looks great Tony!

And don't forget that you can use the align text to curve option to make the type follow the shape...

Mike,

Thanks for the tip. Forgot about that one about the text, will have to do it on the next one. Did 3 so far.

Dumb question: Downloaded stl of heart. Tried to overlay lettering. Of course, ribbon varies in depth, so std v-carve won't work as it follows a 2d plane. So how does one get the lettering to follow the 3d depth of the ribbon?

Thank you

Wood fly,

Forgot to say I did the lettering in aspire. Project toolpath on 3d Model.

Thank you - thought I was going crazy there. I actually did arc the lettering to the curve without any problem - then it was wait a minute - I have a Z axis to deal with...

Darn. Keep saving up  <g>

I thought I would machine one of these for my new wife ( hopefully will add value to my woodworking equipment ) but not sure about the lettering. Did you do the tool paths in cut3d, save and then import into Aspire or do the whole thing in Aspire.

Thanks for your help

John
