Still being somewhat new to cut3d-I am trying to cut parts that have a profiled edge. The finishing path does a great job of milling the difficult part but then also tediously mills the z-axis on the inside edge that doesn't really need to be milled. The ball nose tool ends up leaving a rough edge that the cut-out tool path doesn't clean up. It also seems that my roughing tool path does a great job of getting the perimeter of the object but doesn't really rough out most of the mass. I sometimes do not even use the roughing toolpath because it is the same as the cut-out. Is there something I can do in my drawings that will control the finishing toolpath to only mill the areas that the cut-out won't get. I hope this all makes sense.
