Re-Carve a Trailboard - Schooner Bill of Rights

I work with a Non Profit organization restoring the Schooner Bill of Rights.
My project is to restore the Trailboards, Carvings that go from the bowsprit and about 5 feet along the bow hull.
Only the forward part of the Starboard (Rightside) Trailboard exists.
There are 4 panels, 2 on each side as seen in the top photo.

I don't know how to convert the images to a 3D tool path. I'm new to the system, but have done a lot of woodworking by hand, not with the CNC.
So guidance through the process would be great.

It's a bit difficult to see it in the picture, but maybe it's not 3D.

If the top surface is flat - the outlines could be done in 2D vectors.

Perhaps it could be done in sections and trimmed to fit when attached.

REALLY GOOD - not cell phone - pictures -- STRAIGHT ON - of the anticipated sections would be the start, whether 3D or not.

From that point, a plan could be formulated.

Looks "doable" to me.

Of course, knowing boats - there is "nothing" flat or straight to work with - so some significant "fitting" would be in store.

I am thinking the sections may be 24 inches long, depending on the curves of the boat.

Problem is going to be if you're using Cut3D is that you need other software to create the 3D file in the first place. Cut3D can only cut an existing model not create one.

Do you have any other Vectric software or just Cut3D?

I have VCarvePro, and PhotoVCarve in addition to Cut3D.
When I got Cut3D, I understood this program would do 3D carvings?
I started out in VCarvePro, by importing the photo images, and drawing lines around the leaf shapes.
Then, I thought I could just cut the parimeter out and then use my flex shaft grinder do the 3D.
However, I would prefer having my CNC router cut the 3D shapes, so in the future, if any get damaged, we can make new ones.

I like your idea with the 2D vectors and a die grinder.

If you want the full 3D images, you could "emulate" with a little creativity in v-carve.

I don't know how to use the fluting toolpath put I do know you can really creative with it.

Also if you create narrow, or varying width vector pockets and a use a v-carve toolpath with some flat depths you can get creative.

In the end - course then working you way through finer grits of sandpaper to "form" radiuses and features is not so hard to do. I will often use 40 grit to get some interesting forms.

To get is truly into a CNC 3D you will need Aspire of have someone model it for you.

All of my programs came with my SharkPro back in 2005 just before I retired from the Army.
I'm not able to purchase the updates and am trying to do what I thought they should be able to do now.
I've gone through the tutorials but can't find any of the programs I have that will create a 3D Model.
Of course the newer up dates have some neat adds.

None of the programs you mention can do 3D "create" of a 3D model.
In the Vectric lineup, only, Aspire can do that.

However, V-carve Pro, is capable of a lot of things.

I think you can get really close to what you want with what you have, but, you will need to get a bit creative.
