USMC EGA for plaque

Post by tonybell96 »

Good morning,

I bought a USMC EGA from a military CNC art site to add to a plaque for a Christmas gift. I have been struggling with Cut3D trying to figure out how to edit the tool paths (to add to vcarve pro) so it only carves out the dish with the EGA.

Attached is what the machining is doing, it shows it carving out the material outside the sunken 3D image. How do I adjust that?

Thanks in advance!
Tony

You can try the Model Silhouette option on the 2nd page of Cut3D settings.

Thanks for your reply, I have tried that, however I may not have the settings correct, attached is a photo with the settings.

I do appreciate the help, my son is a marine so I want to make him a door plaque for his new office!

Depends on how the model was made as far as I know. Looks like for that one the square is actually part of the model so there's nothing you can do it in Cut3D to stop it machining the whole surface if that is that the case.

In the symetrical box try putting in .001. Is that one of mine?

Tony, have you resolved the issue with this? I am having the same problem with the 3d dish model I purchased

Thanks
Richard
