Cut3D Four Sided Machine
I'm wanting to use my Fourth Axis to do some four sided machining. Using it as an indexer more then a wrapping axis right now. I'm running into a problem with the Cut3D software, It only flips the material in one direction. Is there a way to have it rotate differently? Right now its rotating on the Axis thats 90deg out from what I need it to. Thanks for any help or direction that you can offer.

Hi Diggs,
When picking your top side, try using "Rotate 90" (Next to Mirror X)
Does this give you the required facings?

Re: Cut3D Four Sided Machine
It seems to only flip on the 'Y' axis, where I need it to flip on the 'X'
I tried the 90 deg, but that just turned the part 90deg
Thanks

Hi Diggs,
You will need to experiment with your model and changing the top surface and rotating it with the options in the Top Surface section of the Orientate and Size Model tab.
In reference to the View, The Front is the side running along the X Axis nearest to the viewer, with the back being the side opposite that.

Hi Diggs,
On reviewing your request I do not think you will be able to achieve what you are hoping to do with your 4th axis and Cut3D.
I hope this helps.

Re: Cut3D Four Sided Machine
Here is a post about how to use the horizontal axis to do all four sides using the center as the Z0. After reading it a 2 years later I think that I could produce a tutorial of it. It is somewhat hard to follow. The basic principal is to make 4 "Top" files getting the Cut3D program to only cut half the model by telling it the material is half the depth. That way the "bottom" of the model is the center. Then combine the gcode with the correct rotations.
