When doing a roughing pass I am running into problems with tear out when the router is traveling in a "conventional cutting" direction and of course when it changes direction to a climb cutting direction the quality of cut greatly improves.
I have tried reducing feed rate, depth of cut and stepover to the point the cut times are incredibly lengthy, but still have the issue.
I am using a 1/4" 2 flute endmill for the roughing pass, cutting maple.
Is there a way to specify to climb cut only in Cut3D as you can in VCarve Pro?
I am open to any suggestions to improve the quality of cut and reduce tearout.
Thanks
Kevin

You might try a down shear bit from Centurion Tools: ->Link
