Exporting/Importing toolpaths

Post by mountaincraft »

Can tool paths output from Cut 3D be imported and integrated into V Carve pro in the same way that they are from 3D machinist?

In addition to making my own 3D files or getting them from the web, I'm hoping to be able to take my Vector 3D files, modify them in my 3D app, import them into Cut 3D to create tool paths and then import the tool paths into V Carve pro to be integrated into projects there...

I also want to be able to do this with models I find on the web or create myself...

Want to make sure it can do this before buying the program...

Also, are all the features of 3D machinist there in Cut 3D, so that I can use cut 3D for everything and not need 3D machinist?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

3D Machinist is a very simplified version of Cut3D so definitely anything you can do with 3D Machinist you can do in Cut3D including importing toolpaths into VCP. Cut3D also supports a wide range of 3D file formats whereas 3D Machinist only works with VectorArt 3D .v3m models.

Have you downloaded and tried the trial version? There are also dedicated tutorials here:
