cut-3d and v-carve pro tile cut

Post by John 49047 »

I am wanting to run a long design in which I would have to machine in a few sections. Like a fireplace mantle. I have cut3-d and V-Carve Pro. According to my research on here in the forum I can create my files in cut3-d and then import the files into V-Carve Pro, then use the tile command in the tool path section. This is my question. Do I create the Rough cut and Finish Cut then import both files? Then run a tile tool path for each. If someone could give a little more detail on this I would appreciate it.
Thank you

You completely toolpath the job in Cut3D and then save the actual Cut3D file (don't export the toolpaths). You then import the Cut3D (.V3D) file into VCarve.

Tutorial D03 on this page - http://support.vectric.com/tut-vcp-2d-techniques - will help.
