Re: Entry door panels
Gene,
You are setting the bar extremely high!
Thanks for photos and details- we're learning and loving it!
Glenn
My guess on the type of wood (unless this is some of your local exotic wood is
Yellow poplar looking closely at the grain and the way the wood took the stain.
Beautiful!

Re: Entry door panels
Gene,
Very nice work.
Can you share a bit more about your toolpaths.
I have a similar project I started today, 22" x 60" x 1.5" and my cutting times are around 12 hours for the rough and 30 hours for the finish.
I think mine has a bit more "open" space but your speeds are great.
Originally it was 215 hours total, so I'm getting better on the toolpath area.
I'll post a few pictures tommorow.
Thanks for the help,
Michael

Gene, Here is the item I'm working on.
22" x 60" x 1.5"
Similar, yet different.

Nice panel...Are you cutting both sides? On the alder panel shown The cut depth was .625" each side on a 1.75" thick panel which left a .5" center thickness to fit in a dado in the rails and stiles of the door frame. .25 ball nose 11% stepover which was a little large but adds a distressed look to the finish. I ran the bot speeds at 3.5ips X,Y and 2.5ips Z.

Re: Entry door panels
Gene,
Just cutting one side, 1.5" thick. There will be two panels ( mirror image ).
I starting with a small section ( 20" x 20" ) useing pink styrofoam to see how it comes out.

Gene,
That is the perfect example of marrying old world craftsmanship and modern technology. Great job...as usual.
