These photos were sent to me by Bob Small from Quarter Point Woodworking in Maine who made these on his Komo. The Carousel Animals (http://www.vectorart3d.com/store/index. ... el&x=0&y=0) are Purpleheart and the box is Red Birch. Its a really nice looking finished part and the contrast between woods is striking IMHO...
The sign image was also sent by Bob and is a sign he made for his sons landscaping business.

just some food for thought.
have him try carving the sign letters with a 120 degree, 1.75 vbit.
the letters will be shallower but still look great.
helps with outdoor signs.
