Eagle Head in Basswood (11x11)
I lost vacuum part way through the finish pass so I had to finish it by hand. It still feels good to have a sharp chisel and a piece of wood. I have a lot more work to do.
Rough: 1/4" downspiral 13K RPM at 2/1 ips for 23 minutes
Finish: 1/8" ballnose 13K at 3/2 ips with 8% stepover for 77 minutes

Sadly I forgot to take a photo of the completed project.
The eagle was given to a traditional Lakota medicine man who is shown below. I was humbled by two things:
1. that he liked the carving we presented to him
2. that he gave a pipe to a member of our group that he had carved using only an eagle claw.
