They look fantastic, I like the way the wheat seems to jump off the wood

The wood is cherry. The stain is a MinWax oak stain. Sealed it with several coats of a spray spar urithane. A sanding between each coat with a 220grit sanding mop. The piece is 8x8 and the carving in the middle is 6.5x6.5. Since the carving was small I roughed it with a .25 spiral UC and finished with a .0625 tapered Ballnose. The tapered BN can do the whole carving on it's own since it is a dish, but i like to rough it to give the bit a break. The smaller bit really brings out the detail a little more. -AD
