Special Gift

Post by Rusty »

This is my first project using Vector Art 3D files. Worked great. Even though I used a .125" ball mill for my finishing path there was still lots of detail. Unbelievable quality. Did all the rest using VCarve. They work well together.
Box is 16" X 8.5".
This will be my last project for a while because I will be moving out to Vancouver Island.

Hi Rusty,

WOW - Fantastic project and great to see how the combination of 2D and 3D toolpaths can be used to carve such a special piece.

Good luck with the move.

Tony

Thanks for the kind words Tony.
It was a fun project. Still need to learn more of the wood stuff.
Everyday I play with VCarve it just reconfirms that I spent my money wisely. All your affiliates, like VectorArt 3D, VectorArt 3D Machinist, the many talented artist/designers, the forum users and all the support staff all together make it easy for the hobbyist to take their craft to a much elevated level of quality & enjoyment.
Not having to learn all the code stuff has allowed me to focus in on the designing. Time better spent.

Don't know if you noticed, but I used the golfer outline (eps from the 3D file) for the cribboard. The 3D & the outline worked well together.

Can any of your forum users quess who this gift is for? Tell me if you know, but please do not tell him yet. IT'S a SURPRISE.

Rusty,

That's a very nice gift indeed and certainly a great combination of the 2D and 3D data. I would very much like to add this to our Vector Art 3D gallery if you would allow me to? - please let me know. Good luck with moving.

regards,
James
