Wedding Sign

Post by mrBOND »

Today I purchased my first VA3D models. It was only one model I needed, but I could'nt resist getting up to the 20% discount.

The project I have is a Wedding Sign that need to be finished before the weekend.
I have not decided how to finish it, but there will be a rope loop in the lower right corner for the wedding bouquet.
Most likely through the rings...

I will post a picture when it's out of the machine...

Thanks to James and all Vectric Team for making this possible!

Hey MrBond!
That looks GREAT!
I designed both the hearts and the wedding rings - the hearts for my Wife's Anniversary gift this year.
You have combined them masterfully in that neat heart-shaped sign.
Bravo!
I can't wait to see the finished sign.

Thursday last week I fired up my machine to cut this sign.
When processing the reference move the machine controller unit burned..
I have been waiting for a new controller, and now I got it.
I will post the result asap.

Yes.. the wedding gift failed completley, but I will cut it anyway...

Oh man, what a bummer!
Glad to hear you got the controller replaced.
I'm sure the newlyweds will appreciate the sign when it is done - it will be a nice rememberance of their wedding.

Finally this is finished! Sorry for the delay.
I hope they don't divorced already...

There was some changes "on the way"
I added a rope to put the wedding flowers in.

The material is oiled laminated oak in 3-layers
Size is 400x450mm (15,7x17,7)
My machine is slow, so it took 3½ hours.
Almost no grinding..

Absolutelly STUNNING

Very very very nice work there, Mr. 007.

(You're having same machine as me (and even older model) and doing this, while I can't even cut a rounded square properly - I'm off to the nearest bridge, it's time for jumping ;))

That came out great! The detail and finish is excellent.

Would you please provide more information on the laminated oak you used. Did you glue it up yourself or is it something available in your area?

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks Tim
I buy the oak from the local joinery carpentry (correct word?)
It's used for kitchen doors...
