Purpleheart lives up to its name
Bought a 10 ft x 7" 3/4 plank of purpleheart last week, here are a couple projects I made from it. Very dense wood, I left these in the cutout block to emphasize the color contrast between cut and uncut wood. These natural sunlight shots don't show that the best, in normal room lighting the cut areas look quite a bit darker.

That's very nice Doug, glad you're not having a problems with this run. Just a note, purple heart will turn darker as time goes on even with a finish on it. If you get a chance to try bloodwood it is fantastic and carves very nice and is not that expensive. It would be a good choice for the Jesus models.
