My first 'project' (Paradise Box)

Post by mountaincraft »

Okay, so this is my entry in the "Paradise Box" category..

This is the first 'wood carving' project I've done on my CNC table.. Up till now, I've only been using it to cut parts for itself and to cut cabinet panels...

I consider it a 'practice' box before I try it with more expensive wood.. This one is in scrap pine... ran trhough the table saw and edge glued then sanded and finally cut on the table and assembled..

I need some decent 3D carving bits (probably gonna get the 3 bit set from Precision Bits once I get the moola up), to dial in the feed rates, speeds, etc.. and to learn a little more about finishing..

Next version will be in Red Oak and another in soft maple.. then I might be ready to try it on some more expensive hardwoods..

Still gotta buy some hinges for it (and future versions)
